City of Games August update: A new game!
I would usually start my updates with a longer introduction about how things are going but this month I am far too excited!
Are you ready for something new?
Race to the Raft
I have been working on Race to the Raft, previously known as Project Smoke, for several years now and I am very excited to be able to finally start sharing something about the game with you.
Race to the Raft is a cooperative social puzzle game for 1 – 4 players where you play the role of the cats that were left behind.
The game can be considered the thematic sequel to The Isle of Cats but it plays in an entirely different way.

I’m looking forward to sharing more about the game with you in the coming months and finally finding out what happens to the cats we left behind.
Announcement email
While these newsletters always get sent on the first Thursday of every month, I will be sending an extra special newsletter about Race to the Raft in the near future. If you wish to receive the announcement, you can sign up for it here.
Gen Con
This week I will be at Gen Con, booth 2758, and I hope you have a chance to stop by and say hello.
I’ll be on the booth for the duration of the show and I am always happy to talk. If you’ve got questions or would just like to say hello, I’d love to see you there.
Publisher lessons
This month in publisher lessons I discussed the following topics:
- Case study: League of the Lexicon
- Creating a recognisable brand
- Creating for everyone
- The hidden currency I run my business on
- Hot desking
- My website statistics
- Going on holiday
An update on Frank
I’m excited to be back in the USA and enjoying some of my favourite foods, it always puts a smile on my face to see how many options for ice cream there are over here! I’ve also been enjoying watching Solar Opposites which has quickly become one of my favourite animated shows, I’m glad I gave it a chance!
Until next time
This week I’m going to be enjoying Gen Con, it’s one of my favourite events of the year and I’m so glad to be back. After that, I think it’s time to get the ball rolling with Race to the Raft and I’ll be getting the final details in place so I can start sharing more with you soon.
