Prototype v2.0
July and August have proved to be very busy months and The City of Kings has continue to evolve into a great game. We iterated over many ideas and slowly improved the game to a point where we were ready for our first external play testers.
So say goodbye to prototype 1.0, it has served its purpose well and earned its place in the bottom of our cupboards.
PROTOTYPE 2.0
Prototype 2.0 is a typed and printed upgrade, we have started to think about sizes and shapes and are experimenting with some of the more basic interface areas.
Whilst visually the game is a long way from completion, the new prototype removes a lot of the difficulties in reading cards and identifying what pieces are. This is an important step to make the play testing experience as easy as possible for any external testers. We want feedback about mechanics and the game itself rather than how hard it was to find the forest cards.
It also helps us identify what is working and what’s confusing, straight away we had to re-work a few areas and create version 2.1 before we even got to the users.
