Scenarios – Play in 60 minutes!

13th February 2017 0

Ever since I started working on The City of Kings I knew it would be a long game. I wanted to give people the feeling of adventure, progression and accomplishment, and this is hard to achieve in a short period of time.

One of the goals of the game was to offer a level of character customisation beyond anything other games have done before, and to make this worthwhile, players would need to take enough turns to feel the benefits.

With that said, I also understand not everyone has 2 – 3 hours to play a game and for those who do, it’s not always every game night. So, I started looking for a way to let players play The City of Kings more often, without taking anything away from the core experience.

INTRODUCING SCENARIOS

Today I am pleased to announce that in addition to the 7 stories featured in The City of Kings, we will be adding 9 scenarios to the base game.

Each scenario will offer a 45 – 90 minute challenge focussing on a single objective which you will need to complete. There will be a range of difficulties from easy to hard and a variety of objectives from killing creatures, gathering resources and repairing buildings.

Furthermore, additional scenarios will be offered as stretch goals during our Kickstarter campaign so the more goals we hit, the more scenarios there will be to play.

I will be releasing more information about scenarios and updating the rulebook in the coming weeks but until then feel free to ask any questions on FacebookBGG or Twitter.
