    For Isle of Cats.
The cards that are just boots. Once purchased with fish, can they play that card for multiple turns/days? Or are the to be discarded at the end of each turn?

      Hi Alex,

You can keep the cards in your hand as long as you like, but as soon as you play them in the rescue phase of a round, they are spent and are discarded at the end of the turn.

      I hope this helps!

      Hi Audrey,

I am afraid I do not have the French rules available, these are produced and owned by Lucky Duck Games. I would recommend reaching out to them and they should be able to help.

    Hey Frank!
    I LOVE Emberleaf.
I’m preparing to write and film my video review, but we have a few rules questions at 2 players:

It doesn’t seem like there are enough Dangerous areas to trigger the end of the game in a 2 player game. So each time we triggered game end by building all building squares (minus the buildings from setup). The bag was empty before we could get the last trophy.
We may have forgotten a time or two to move the tracker down, but it seems like that shouldn’t break the ending of the game.

I think you say in your video that you can trigger the game end by filling all building spaces, but we could not find that in the rulebook.

It seems like there are only 4 campfires, and therefore only 4 cards you can add to your deck. Is this true? We wish we could get more cards. Again in a 2 player game, we don’t cycle through enough cards to get great choices…. choice is at the mercy of what’s out when you can get with a campfire.

My biggest wish for this game would be to be able to get additional cards in the deck…
    or…
a way to trade in a character card
    or…
a way to refresh the character card row.

I’d love to hear back from you so I can complete my review at @thegamebard

      Hey!

I’m glad to hear you have been enjoying the game!

      To answer your questions:

      1) If you fill a clearing, you will receive a trophy during the trophy step. A clearing is considered full when every space within the clearing contains a building. (See “filling clearings” on the bottom of page 13.)

Six trophies can come from building – so you should find most trophies come from filling clearings – although it is possible for the majority to come from clearing dangerous areas if all players are heavily focused on it. In these cases, you may find you run out of dangerous areas, but filling clearings will then quickly bring the game to an end.

Page 7 of the rulebook has a lot of summarised information for the flow of the game and is worth re-reading once you’ve played the game once to check everything is being done correctly.

      2) You are correct, you can only choose 4 extra heroes in Emberleaf and this is a critical part of the game.

Each hero you choose not only adds new options to your fellowship, but will enhance existing cards. By the time you have 4 heroes, you will find your starting cards are suddenly much more capable and powerful. Additionally, with this limitation in place, every time you play you will find you have a completely different set of cards, providing different options.

I understand the desire for more cards, but it really takes more away from the game than it adds.

      3) Bonus tip!

If I can offer a small tip — when it comes to cards, both favour cards and hero cards — I always recommend taking things early and then seeing what you can do with them. Every card in the game is powerful if used correctly, and there is rarely a reason not to want every card. Don’t wait for a specific card to come out; take something early and work out how you can use or achieve it, and you’ll likely find yourself winning every game!

      I hope this helps!
