Yesterday I returned to England having spent the last week at Gen Con, the biggest board game event in America, and perhaps the world.
As soon as I landed in Indianapolis I knew I was in the right place as the airport floor had been covered in a welcome message from Gen Con.
The crowds were massive and the queue on the first morning spilled out onto the streets.
Yet when the doors opened, it gently filtered into the main hall and we were free to walk around and look at all the new games.
Whilst I didn’t have a booth this year, I still bumped into countless people who came over and said hello and it was amazing. Thank you! It was a great feeling and I will always remember it.
There were certainly some complications during the event, my lack of internet access made it much harder to arrange meetups but I will consider alternative options for next year. Sorry to all of those who didn’t get a chance to say hi.
Gen Con really was fantastic and I’m hopeful The City of Games will be there next year with all of our games and our own booth, I’ll keep you updated!
Thank you for your continued support and I’ll be writing about some exciting upcoming events very soon.
