It’s hard to believe we’re already well into autumn here in the UK. Can you believe that 2025 is nearly upon us? Perhaps not just yet, though—there’s still plenty to do in 2024 and so much to talk about. I’d like to give you a few updates and get your feedback on what should come next from City of Games.
Emberleaf Kickstarter
As you may be aware, Emberleaf is currently live on Kickstarter, and I’d like to start by thanking everyone who has backed the campaign so far—I am always so grateful for your support and I can’t wait to get Emberleaf to your table!
A few updates have come since the launch. Firstly, many of you requested a “just the game” option, which is now available as a new cheaper reward tier. Secondly, thanks to the overwhelming support for the Deluxe Edition—a surprise even for me—we’ve hit a threshold I never expected to reach, allowing me to reduce shipping costs across all reward tiers.
Which tier should I choose?
One question I have been asked a lot is, “which tier should I choose?” It’s a personal decision, but I recommend the Kickstarter Edition as it includes all the gameplay content, a nice selection of upgrades, and best matches what you have come to expect from my previous Kickstarters.
The Retail Edition doesn’t include those extras, and the Deluxe Edition is primarily for those of you who have been requesting neoprene mats over the years. If neoprene mats aren’t something you’re particularly interested in, then the Kickstarter Edition is the perfect choice!
If you have any questions or would like further details, feel free to ask in the comments.
What’s Next?
While I’m focused on Emberleaf right now, game development takes a lot of time, and there are several things I’ve been working on in the background. I’d love to get your feedback on these, so if you have a few minutes, I would be grateful if you could fill out the survey below. I’m really curious to hear what you’d like to see next!
YouTube Videos
One of my personal goals this year has been to get in a position where I can start producing more regular YouTube content. This has always been something I’ve wanted to do but haven’t been able to until now. You may have noticed that I’ve started a new series called The City of Kings Lore, where I discuss various aspects of the broader City of Kings universe. There are also playthroughs, how-to-play videos, and more. Make sure you subscribe to the YouTube channel if you’d like to follow along!
Store Updates
At the moment, there is a good amount of stock of most items available in my online store. However, I’m aware that The Isle of Cats promo packs have been out of stock on and off. A new shipment is currently on the way from China, although it has been delayed by a storm. I’ll keep you posted as soon as I have more information on when to expect it.
Until next time
With Emberleaf launching on Kickstarter, much of my time in the immediate future will be focussed on the campaign and getting the game into your hands. But! I also have some other surprises which I hope to share with you soon and just like I said at the start of this email, I’m not done with 2024 yet…
I look forward to hearing your feedback in the survey and I am happy to answer any questions in the comments. Have a fantastic month, and I’ll be in touch again soon with more news.
