Shipping for The Isle of Cats begins
Earlier this year I launched The Isle of Cats Kickstarter, and since then I’ve been working hard with our manufacturing and shipping partners to get the games to you as quickly as possible.
Today I am pleased to confirm the games have started arriving with our fulfillment centers and we are moving into the final phase, shipping!
This means we have closed the pre-order store, locked everyones orders, and sent your details to be processed.
Timelines
Next week is Christmas, and that means for most of the world there is a very limited amount of time that is available to our fulfillment centers for processing your orders. I expect the majority of shipments to take place in early and mid-January, and for the majority of people to receive their games by the end of January.
Here’s a breakdown of what to expect:
America/Canada
The games will be arriving with our US (and Canadian) partner (QML) this week and they have now received all of the order data to process. By the end of this week the data should be sorted, invoices paid and games should have arrived. This means they may be able to start sending out a few parcels next week, but it being the week of Christmas I’m not expecting more than a handful of orders to be processed before the end of the year.
QML will start processing the majority of the orders at full speed from the start of January and I expect them all to have been sent by mid-January.
Asia
Luckily (depending on how you look at it), our Asian partner (VFI) don’t shut for Christmas and they have already received all the stock and orders to process. I have requested they start as soon as possible so we can avoid delays with the Chinese New Year and they have already started sorting packages.
I expect the majority of their packages to be shipped out by the end of December with a few going out in early January.
Australia/New Zealand
The games have arrived with our Australian partner (Unicorn Games) and they have now received all of the order data to process. They are now waiting on a shipment of custom boxes in order to safely ship the games to you, and these should arrive within the next 1 – 2 weeks. This means they may be able to start sending out a few parcels by the end of December, but it being the week of Christmas I’m not expecting more than a handful of orders to be processed before the end of the year.
Unicorn Games will start processing the majority of the orders at full speed from the start of January and I expect them all to have been sent by mid-January.
Europe/Rest of the world
The games will be arriving with our EU (and rest of the world) partner (Gamesquest) next week and they have now received all of the order data to process. By the end of next week the data should be sorted, invoices paid and games should have arrived. This means they will start processing orders at full speed from the start of January and I expect them all to have been sent by mid-January.
Summary
We are currently several months ahead of our predicted delivery date of the end of March and it’s very exciting that games will start shipping out within the next few days. But, with that said, please do bare with us during Christmas and the New Year and don’t be concerned if you don’t here anything until January.
For the vast majority of you, your games will be sent between the 6th and 17th of January and I will not be able to provide any updates to the status of your orders until fulfillment has finished which is currently estimated as the 24th January.

Frank, thank you for the regular and detailed feedback on the campaign. As a late pledger, I also appreciate the email notifications whenever you post an update. No other campaign I late pledged does this. I agree with all the backers who appreciate your communication and attention to detail, and I look forward to playing the Isle of Cats next month.

Hello Frank,
This has been such a positive experience with you. I have appreciated the communication through the development process. Now, my communication to you.
The game arrived the first week in January in Atlanta, GA USA. The boards and game pieces are all sturdy. They were easy to separate. The game pieces will last, unless our real cats get hold of a piece and chew it.
My wife and I read through the book but it was hard to follow. So we watched the video on the website. It was very helpful to understand the terminology of the game and see some strategy to the game. Seeing the usual game also helped us to understand the difference with the family game.
We did need to watch the family game video just long enough to be sure how to identify the Family Cards from the decks. Then we played the family game. It was a nice short game without all the time of trading cards. We enjoyed this first time.
I will be curious if a cooperative variation of the game can be developed. The challenge I see would to determine a goal for all players to work towards.
Thank you for an enjoyable game.
John

Hi John, I’m glad to hear you game arrived and you’ve managed to get a game in already! I also appreciate your feedback, I understand rulebooks aren’t always in the natural order for everyone so apologise if this wasn’t clear in places for you. While it wont help you just yet, I am working on putting together some teaching videos that focus more on the game setup and rules, rather than just playing the game. I hope these will be out soon and helpful to some.
I’ve not planned to look into cooperative variations of the game, but it might be something in the future.
