Production samples for The Isle of Cats
The last few weeks have been busy and I am incredibly happy to let you all know that the production sample for The Isle of Cats is here.
I’m so happy in fact I entirely forgot how to take a good photo and account for lighting, so please excuse the quality of some of these. I’ll be looking to get some better photos taken soon!
The samples included 2 copies of the game, the Kickstarter Pack, and the Late Arrivals expansion.
This photo shows all the components included in the standard game, there’s so much stuff I had to overlap a lot of the boards but I’m very happy with how it all looks!
A close up of a few of the pieces, you can see the cat stories on the side of the box and some of the unique rare treasure artworks. Just look how big that bag is!
For anyone wondering why the middle of the pile of cards are a different colour, it’s because I have them flipped so I can check the 3 packages of cards in the box. When they are all rotated the normal way, they don’t look like this.
Most of the contents of the Kickstarter Pack, there are a fair few fish and a lot more cards!
For anyone backing the Kickstarter, you will receive the Kickstarter Pack within the core game box itself.
The Late Arrivals expansion has a few extras not mentioned on the Kickstarter. Nothing crazy, but you’ll notice there is an extra small meeple of each colour to better support the higher player count and some more baskets. This is because I made some minor adjustments to a few of the cards and wanted to make sure there were enough of these components in every situation.
While going through the production samples there were some very minor issues, a couple of incorrect finishes and packing issues, but nothing that is hard to fix or adds any delays. The colours of everything are incredible, so much better than the photos can show, the meeples look fantastic and the box is beautiful. All the components are such high quality and I think you will be very happy when you get them in your hands.
In fact, Whatz have outdone themselves this time around and I am blown away by how good the production sample looks. They’ve really upped their game with quality control and this leads us to some interesting news, The Isle of Cats will be shipping in February!
