I hope the year has started well for you and that you’ve found time for a few great board game nights!
I’ve got a bunch of exciting updates to share with you today, and rather curiously, they all seem to revolve around the letter D. So, let’s not delay-let’s dive straight in.
The City of Games Discord is now live
I’m excited to invite you to the official City of Games Discord server, a new space where like-minded people can chat, ask questions, and share stories.
Whether you love one of my games or all of them, it’s a great place to:
- Talk strategy and rules
- Get advice on expansions
- Share photos and discuss non City of Games games you’re enjoying
- Be the first to hear announcements and sneak peeks
- Give feedback on ideas and help shape the way I move forward with things
And if you’re near Bristol (or can get here), there’s even a section for playtesting events. I’d love to see you there, so come say hi and let’s build something that brings a bit more joy to each of our days.
The Isle of Cats: Duel is now available worldwide
It’s been incredible to see so many people enjoying The Isle of Cats: Duel-photos, kind words, and some lovely reviews have been rolling in.
I’m happy to confirm that Duel is now available in retail stores across the world, so wherever you live-be it the US, Canada, Australia, the UK, or Europe-you should be able to find it. And if your local retailer doesn’t have it yet, just ask them to order it in. Their suppliers will have access.
If you’ve already played and enjoyed the game, a quick review on BoardGameGeek really helps, and I’d be so grateful to anyone who takes the time to do that.
The Isle of Cats: Digital is here
The digital version of The Isle of Cats is now available on Steam!
It’s a full standalone version of the board game, packed with:
- Seasonal challenges
- Online multiplayer
- And of course, the full game
Whether you’re playing with friends, family, or meeting new players online, it’s a great new way to enjoy the game.
There are just 48 hours left in the first rescue challenge, I may have had a go myself and look forward to seeing who can top the scoreboards!
General updates
Outside of all the things above, there’s plenty more going on at The City of Games.
- Emberleaf is currently in production, and it won’t be long before I’m fulfilling orders. I’m really looking forward to seeing it land in people’s hands.
- And yes, I’m working on new games, which I’ll start talking about later this year.
As always, I’d love to hear your thoughts—what types of games would you like to see from The City of Games next? Heavier or lighter? Something competitive, cooperative, or a bit of both? Come share your ideas in the Discord.
What I’ve been up to
On a more personal note, I’ve just finished watching season 2 of Arthdal Chronicles-one of my favourite shows in recent times. Think Korean Game of Thrones (at least, that’s how I see it-I’m sure others would disagree!). I’ve also been playing plenty of board games and tackling my gaming library!
Until next time
I hope you have a fantastic month, and I look forward to chatting again soon.
