Earlier this month I was at Gen Con, one of the biggest board gaming events of the year. It’s always an incredible experience, but for me it’s a non-stop working show with no breaks for days on end. This is by choice, and I love it!

Over the past few years, I have talked about my 3-week announcement process many times, stating that it is my preferred approach to announcing games. Yet earlier this month I announced my new game Race to the Raft months before it will be available. This change in approach was the result of three things.

When I pick up a game, the odds are it has been designed for me and I’ll be able to relate to the characters within. It’s so likely that I don’t even think about it, as for my entire life I’ve played the role of the white male hero in countless games. For many people the story is different.

I am pleased to announce Race to the Raft, the thematic sequel to The Isle of Cats! Race to the Raft is a cooperative social puzzle game for 1 – 4 players where you play the role of the cats that were left behind. If you’ve ever wondered what happened to the cats you didn’t rescue, you are about to find out!

Just under an hour ago the UK broke its hottest ever recorded temperature and it is still getting warmer. Some estimates predict the previous record will be broken by 10%, for a country filled with houses designed to retain heat and no air conditioning, this makes for a very uncomfortable experience.
