    Hello Frank,
I just want to say that I Love, Love, Love this game! From the mechanics to the artwork to the variety of cards that affect the play. I have a question. When I first read the rules and played, under rooms it says that the rooms are identified by the icons and we began playing counting unfinished icon rooms for the minus 5 points, then reading again several months later, it reads that the large middle space is also a room #5, but has no icon. I have shared my love of this game with many people and I know of 4 that have since purchased it. I have submitted to GM the game at WBC -World Boardgaming Championships next summer 2023. I want to make sure we play it as intended. It is VERY hard to fill your entire boat. The scoring example just happens to have all of the area labeled #5 (which is not even named) covered, so that doesn’t help with my question.

Hi Rolinda, I’m very happy to hear you’ve been enjoying the game so much!

I can confirm every single square on your boat is part of a room, and the “no icon” room is its own room.

It is indeed very hard to fill the entire boat and it’s unlikely you will achieve this. Much of the game is about deciding the optimal way to get the most points, and part of that choosing which areas to leave empty.

      I hope this helps!

Yes! It is most definitely the biggest strategy in the game, deciding which to sacrifice and which will get you more points scored in the long run.
        Thank you for the clarification!
